Hastings was incorporated as a borough on December 4, 1894.




Mission Statement

Borough Council will strive to make Hastings a great place to live. Council is committed to promoting the health, welfare, and safety of all residents by providing services and programs that indicate that commitment.

  • Providing services and programs to its residents such as administrative services, maintenance of our town and streets, police protection, water and sewer services, and recreational and civic activities.


  • Communication between council and citizens.


  • Encourage volunteerism for the betterment of the community.


  • Demonstrating fiscal responsibility in all of its deliberations.


  • Maintaining and improving the infrastructure of the borough.

    Memorial Building

    The Memorial building is open from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM for people who would like to walk the gym floor. No street shoes are allowed.

    The borough is working on a handicap ramp for the basement cafeteria area.

    The Borough Building

    The borough will be replacing the borough building roof in the coming months because of structure problems.

    The Old School Building

    The borough is receiving the prints for remolding the old school into a senior citizen housing unit. Prints will be at the borough office to inspect if any one interested.
