Mission Statement
As stewards of the community's water system, our mission is to provide a clean, safe, reliable water supply.
Our commitment is to ensure the cost-efficient operation, render the highest standard of customer service and maintain an active role within the community.
Water Source Information
We have two water sources for our drinking water supply. DEP has named the water sources as the Mine Spring and Park Well.
Presently we are using about 60% of the Mine Spring and 40% of the Park Well. Our present needs are to pump about 160,000 gallons per day to supply water for the town. We use more or less of each end source depending on Mine Spring Output.
We are working on a major project to ensure an adequate supply of water from the Mine Spring to utilize it at 100% without using the Park Well. This source has been decreasing over the past few years. The engineers and Water Authority have been looking at options to increase the yield of this water source. This is our primary water source and is receiving all of our attention.
We have drilled 9 test holes to check and monitor the water supply. At this time everything looks promising with enough water to supply our needs.
The engineering firm has given us options to consider. We will need to make the decision on what we feel is best and the most economical way to achieve the necessary output.
In the near future we will be meeting with DEP to lay out our plans. If everything goes as planned construction will start in the spring of 2009. We will post updates on each phase of the project.
