Water Source Update
We have received approval from DEP to start and run a Syphon System at the mine spring location for testing. The test will be in operation for at least 120 days, after that time if everything goes as planned, the system will be installed permanently.
This source will be capable of supplying the towns water supply needs 100%.
Our secondary source (Park Well) has a very high content of dissolved Iron. This dissolved Iron has a very adverse effect on not only our water plant but also the Sewer Plant after we clean the filters.
With these problems in mind we have approached the engineers from Stiffler McGraw with the task of relaying to us what we need to do to correct the situation if we ever need to use this source as our primary source if something would happen to our mine spring source.
Updates will be posted as needed but if anyone wants more information they are invited to attend any water meeting or contact anyone on the water committee with questions.
On a different note we have made application and been awarded a partial grant from Southern Allegehenies to install a 2” water line from Haida Avenue to Dawn Street to supply town water for those residents on Dawn Street.
